OTHER: The Alpine Penstemon is an evergreen ground cover native to alpine & sub-alpine areas of the Western US & Canada. They are very drought tolerant, & can grow in rocky or sandy soil. They make great rock garden plants, & look fantastic trailing over rock walls or spilling out of containers. The lush, succulent foliage is both rabbit & deer resistant, so you can plant them anywhere you’d like, no babysitter needed.
The 1 – 1 1/2" long tubular flowers are huge for a plant this size, & are very showy on top of the low growing foliage. The blooms can be so dense, the plant just looks like a pile of flowers. Ha ha! The lavender purple flowers attract butterflies & HUMMINGBIRDS!
We have many other great Penstemon seeds available, & a wonderful 'Native Mix' we blend in house!
