OTHER: Purple Gerardia is native to eastern North America. Its combination of big flowers on short stems over minimal foliage make this a very showy plant. Bees including bumble bees will visit the flowers for nectar & pollen as will butterflies, & it is a host plant for the Common Buckeye Butterfly. This reseeding annual can add an amazing color to shade gardens & wet areas! Grow them in swamps, bogs, moist meadows, sandy or rocky pond edges, or a woodland garden.
